Likely Democratic primary voters - especially those who are in Niles and Maine Townships, voters of color, those over the age of 65, or women over 55 – need to read in the mail and see on streaming and programmatic digital that, with a career’s worth of experience mastering the lawmaking process, Rachel Ruttenberg will put progressive policy into action as their next State Senator. Specifically, they need to learn that:

• She is a policy expert who has already done the work to take progressive ideas and turn them into reality. That includes helping to pass Evanston’s first safe-storage ordinance, to help prevent gun violence. After a career in public service in state and local government, she’ll be prepared to fight back against Trump and get things done on day one.

• She has the experience to fight for universal healthcare in Springfield. She worked to expand Medicaid access across Illinois and provide medical debt relief for struggling Cook County residents. Rachel is endorsed by Planned Parenthood of Illinois because she's a champion for reproductive rights.
